[OFF]rougeben83, I did some ressearch on brakes, and even better than that I tried them, I also know 5 other guys with those brakes installed, we are all very happy. the braking distance is far better than standard.

The only thing that worry me about this kit is impreza GC8 brake bias needs. does any one can tell me anything about this ? I could use a rear limiter if rear brake are too strong, but I'd rather know first

AndyRoo, I haven't tried them on EVO, so I won't be able to comment. one thing suprise me is I tried to do a title search on this forum with "D2 racing", my topic is the only one that pops up, so where are all those feedback ?

Uncle Scotty, I can asure you none of the D2 brake kits owner I know are ricers. in fact I'm not fan of the purple color, I even thought of painting them black. we don't THINK we need bigger, we are just tired to wrap disc for breakfast... and yes I have tried the uprated discs and pads trick (endess, Dixcel, mintex...) and I just doesn't beleive in this anymore. it just don't do it for me...[/OFF]
[off]Do you have to purchase pads through D2, or do they share a pad design with an OEM brake system or another, better known, aftermarket brake package?

No, you don't have to purchase D2 pads. I think I have read somewhere they share AP racing design. in the booklet it says Front 8 pots calippers can use AP CP5070D54; FERODO FPRP3077. D2 offers Racing pads if you wish too. I use the standard D2 "sport" pads given in the package.

How many miles/km and how much track time so far?
I don't do track racing, I do slalom/gymkhana and uphill race (and some fast road use). I have done around 10.000 km with the toyota
the Impreza has done around 1000 km only. road use mostly, and some uphill practice on private road.

What pads are you using (coef/heat rating if possible) and what is disc wear like? Can you get a few photos up to show disc wear so far?
I'm using "sport" pads given in the package.
    Here are D2 specs

    SPORT PAD
    Material:NAO(CERAMIC) + Semi-Metallic
    Friction coefficient (μ):0.46~0.53
    Temperature:90°C~550°C

    RACING PAD
    Material:Carbon + Metal + Graphite
    Friction coefficient (μ):0.5
    Temperature:250°C~800°C

I 'll try to do some photos of the disc wear.

How do the brakes feel once hot?

Great, they don't fade. (at least not on my condition)

    Are they noisey?

    not at all.

Are there any vibrations or other things you can feel through the steering wheel or brake pedal with the D2s?
    No

What discs and pad combos did you try with the Brembos you had before?
on the toyota I had various type a brake system and pads. pads I have tried have been.
    - TRD
    - mintex (xtrem if I remember well)
    - Pagid fast road

on the subaru, I had Dixcel grooved disc with following pads :
    - standard
    - Endless (cheaper model)
    - DIXCEL M
    - DIXCEL Z
i have to say DIXCEL Z are best pads of the lot when hot. started to get some vibration thought after a while.

How would you compare the braking performance of the D2s to brembos with slotted discs and performance pads?

On the Toyota ? Brembo disc cracked after a year of use... enough said. I will see if D2 resist, need more milleage to be able to say how they perform through years
the subaru STI type R didn't come with brembo brakes, it came with Subaru 4 pots calippers and around 286mm disc (I don't remember the exact size, but this was close to that) I wraped standard disc after few month of use. then started to get vibration on Dixcel disc too.

How long have you had the D2s on your previous car (the toyota)?

Brake kit has been on the car for almost a year.

How many events has it competed in?
the championship has only started, so I have done 2 events only. next event on the 16th of august. those are gymkhana events thought, so it is not that hard on brakes. On the side I do quite a lot of uphill training, as this is the next event type I will enter the car in.

What is the wear like on those discs? Can you post a photo of the disc wear if possible.
they are in exelent shape. I'll try to post pics

I know I haven't been able to anwser it all with precise figures, I hope it still helpfull for some of you. Thanks for brake bias info. I might have to add a rear limiter then as D2 brake bias is 7:3[/off]
